I'm not losing this one ever again!

The world wide web gave me a hard time today! Took almost a half-hour to track this beauty down!

I was bored. Also, I lack basic talent.

A Guy Called Gubler

This is the second part in a series of blog posts on my sad, sad obsession with *yet another*  celebrity, Matthew Gray Gubler. Part one is HERE

I hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate this. Why do I "fall" for celebrities so often?! I admit, its better than being crazy about a "real life" person. Still. It sucks.

The worst part of a celeb-related crush, IMO is when you find similarities b/w yourself and the said person. That's when the actual obsession starts. Watching a TV show is one thing - thinking of someone all the time, imagining impossible situations wherein you might 'accidentally' run into a well, a bona fide celebrity - that's what makes you suffer.

And yes. Right now I am suffering. Real bad. Like real pain - bad. Take a few minutes off your busy schedules. Bother checking out this LINK

Done?

Does it sound familiar?

Did you just say no? Hmm. Let me help - I'll just post a few of his answers:

I guess three steps above looking homeless. I don't own many new clothes.

...one teal argyle

There would be a museum involved. In New York. Hopefully in the Fall because I love the Fall. It would also involve a dried leaves fight, hot apple cider and a pumpkin patch.

Also it would be horrible if it was somewhere loud, and she was trying to get me to dance to R&B music slowly with a crazy look in her eyes.

My favourite living director would be Wes Anderson, I think he is pretty great. A dead one would be Alfred Hitchcock, he made so many incredible films. I also love Roman Polanski, the Coen brothers... I like every single film, it is so hard to make a movie so I have a lot of respect for anyone who makes something that is watchable!

A dream come true. I got to be his real intern for school credit. And I still can't believe I was in one of his movies. I was watching The Royal Tenenbaums the other day and suddenly thought "I can't believe I was in a Wes Anderson movie!" There's nobody like him. It gave me a bizarre first impression about being an actor. He does many things unconventionally. It is the exact opposite of working on a TV show. He is a very measured and precise director who tries to make perfection.

You know what, I can't copy-paste things anymore. He fcking looks like Johnny Depp these days!

I'm suffering.

 I'm gonna go eat cake.

through the lens!

Okay, so i just got a new camera! yaaaaaaaay :) !!!!! So finally, now i'll click my way into seeing life through a new lens. And just browsing through the world wide web for examples of what others see through their lenses brought me to this. Yeah it's another photo-site, but me, being in the artsy mode these days, with a new found love for impressionism and related things, have fallen in love with the few, but beautiful pictures here.

Make sure you look up the Impression, Expression and Abstraction categories.

Something to think about

A welcome note and an angry ode

I know...it seems as though I'm the only one here who knows how to type :-|

Anyway, ladies and gentledoodles, please put your hands together for the Famed Loser, Ax.

Hoping you are a better member that some donkeys I can name :rolling eyes:

That being said, I want to share a poem with y'all. I'm not proud of it. And I don't think its good. Ususally when I write a poem, I try to poet myself in the shoes of the person I'm writing about. I try to decode/morph my feelings. This time its real. Its not a beautiful poem. But its something I think I should always remember.

The Red Umbrella

I had a red umbrella
and what did I do?
I bought some black paint
And covered it for you

The next day was wicked
As cold as could be
The wind attacked my umbrella                                   (sooooo unimaginative)
And snatched it from me

In that sea of black ones
Mine was nowhere to be found
I held back my tears
I didn't make a sound

Thought you would come help me
Show that you care
But you just stood there and laughed
With that cold, icy stare

I asked you what happened
Did I do something wrong?
I saw you pick up an umbrella
Next moment you were gone.

(dedicated wholeheartedly to SHITHEAD. Hope your life sucks, manbitch!)

People I Admire #1 : Norah Jones

I'll be honest with you guys...when it comes to music, I'm probably the World's BIGGEST Hypocrite - its not something that I'm proud of; but then being a slightly pretentious moron, I don't try to hide it either. So you see, no matter how hard I try, I just can't like something that is popular. I just can't - believe me, I've tried a thousand times. I think my constant need for being different and far from "normal" has made me a snooty smartass.

Song Styles
There are songs that I like initially, but the moment I find out that the song is, in fact, popular, I lose interest. That happened with Taylor Swift's Love Story, pretty much every song that Green Day and Linkin Park ever released and currently popular bands like Paramore, Muse etc. etc.

Sometimes I refuse to like the song because everyone else likes it eg. Fireflies by Owl City. I swear, its not something that I decide to do on a whim - it just happens!

That being said, I sometimes like bands that are, in fact, popular, but just not in the place I live/with most people I know, examples being The Script, OneRepublic, Jason Mraz, Dido, The Bee Gees, Sheryl Crow Il Divo and Norah Jones

The New Nightingale
I know Norah is a popular artist - and why shouldn't she be? She is gorgeous, intelligent, a good soul and most of all, a wonderful singer - there is no reason why people should not fall in love with this woman.

Except for Human Stupidity, that is. Thanks to girls like Justine Bieber and guys like Milo Cyrus, not to mention the likes of Shrill-ary Puff, Lady Gargoyle, Vanessa Pudgens, Bobby Rat (I'm guessing you call her Robby Pat)...oh wait, where was I? Yeah, the popularity of non-singers - well that ensures that morons don't "get" the beauty of Norah's voice. I admit - sometimes I feel like I'm tone-deaf , but hey, any no-talent novice with basic intelligence (a rare commodity indeed) can tell you, there is so much more in an NJ song than just music and lyrics - Its amazing how she goes from bittersweet melancholy (Seven Years) to bubbly unclouded joy (Sunrise) to sensual flirtation (little Room) *also, at this point, I'd love to point out that she's always flirty, never cheap and slutty.*

Okay fine, so maybe I don't get music. I know jack squat about chords and treble and God-knows-what else - but I do get Norah. Her voice, the lyrics of her songs, the soft soothing music, the emotions she conveys - all of these make her song a beautiful experience, a wonderful journey. Its like coming home.

Pity those Bieber girls will never experience it.

I think I own each and every album of hers. That makes me proud of myself. :)

There is a faint possibility that I'm developing a girlie crush on her. Meh, she still beasts Pattinson.

(Also, don't you think she and Henry Cavill will make an adorable couple?)
edit: Their baby is just plain adorable!

Happy Independence Day!

Chhodo kal ki baatein, kal ki baat puraani
Naye daur mein likhenge milkar nayi kahaani
Hum hindustani, hum hindustani - 2

Aaj puraani zanjeeron ko tod chuke hain
Kya dekhe us manzil ko jo chhod chuke hain
Chaand ke dar pe jaa pahuncha hai aaj zamaana
Naye jagat se hum bhi naata jod chuke hain
Naya khoon hai, nayi umangein, ab hai nayi jawaani
Hum hindustani

Chhodo kal ki baatein, kal ki baat puraani
Naye daur mein likhenge milkar nayi kahaani
Hum hindustani, hum hindustani

Aao mehnat ko apna imaan banaaye
Apne haathon ko apna bhagwaan banaaye
Ram ki is dharti ko gautam ki bhoomi ko
Sapnon se bhi pyaara hindustan banaaye
Naya khoon hai, nayi umangein, ab hai nayi jawaani
Hum hindustani

Chhodo kal ki baatein, kal ki baat puraani
Naye daur mein likhenge milkar nayi kahaani
Hum hindustani, hum hindustani

Har zarra hai moti, aankh uthaakar dekho
Maati mein sona hai, haath badhaakar dekho
Sone ki yeh ganga hai, chaandi ki yamuna
Chaaho to patthar pe dhaan ugaakar dekho
Naya khoon hai, nayi umangein, ab hai nayi jawaani
Hum hindustani, hum hindustani

Chhodo kal ki baatein, kal ki baat puraani
Naye daur mein likhenge milkar nayi kahaani
Hum hindustani, hum hindustani - 2

Single White Stripe ;)

''I think we would go ahead with the show even if I had to sit out there on the front porch with a guitar by myself'' -Jack White ( The White Stripes)

Okay so it's not like i've listened to a lot of White Stripes so far......but this guy blew my mind. One of my friends made me watch this Documentary called 'It Might Get Loud', which was about three guitarists getting together and talking about the beauty that is the Electric Guitar, and jamming of course.

So i start watching this movie, going all ga-ga watching Jimmy Page (lead guitar, Led Zeppelin) in the cast and stuff....and then i start to pay attention to the others.

DUDE!!!!!!!!!! This guy is friggin amazing. His philosophy and approach moved me. The movie had started with him assembling some random objects together, connecting them to an Amp(lifier)......and Voila! I could hear a great distorted riff! And He just says one simple sentecnce. "Who said you needed to buy a Guitar?"

So it started with that bomb that made me go "OMG''....and then it progressed to a greater stuff.

Jack was the youngest of ten children. This guy actually had his whole bedroom filled with Drum sets, Amplifiers, and all sorts of rock equipment. he moved his bed out to make space for all of it and slept on a foam mattress at an angle, every night, as long as his instruments were fine, so was he. But that's not all.

Jack just picks up any old guitar he finds, in whatever condition it may be, and finds something to play. He doesn't repair it, he just masters it. He makes the guitar dance to the tunes in his head. He said that the trick is to pick up a fight with an instrument, and then win it. He made this guitar once, which had a mouth organ inside it. You pull it out, play and put it back. Simple, yet no one had really modified a guitar like that before.

There was a lot of stuff in the documentary that made me think so hard, the stuff was absolutely overwhelming. But the one scene in there, that made the most powerful impact on me, was that of Jack at one of his gigs.....the guy was playing his electric.....and his fingers were literally bleeding ( They showed the guitar later, with blood stains all over its body) but he just continued playing as if nothing had ever happened. He was that immersed in music.
There are many things i don't know about Jack White. I only just found out about him in a movie. But what I do know is that he has changed the way I look at things. And as long as there are people like him, good and honest music will live on. Here's to Jack White. Dude, RESPECT !!! :)

The Squiggles Initiative

We spend so may years actively participating in what the world calls "non-verbal communication". Whether its the Curse of the Boring Teacher or Attack of Stupidities or just plain boredom, we loved nothing better than to use those last pages of our notebooks for playing games, chatting or simply doodling.

It was so great to be able to sit next to your friends and share your ramblings.

Sure, we have moved far away from each other, but why should the fun stop just because we don't see each other everyday?

This blog is an honest, slightly unrealistic attempt by two friends who don't care how far they live.

They know their minds are always on the same page.

Through this blog we pay homage to those random squiggly lines that once upon a time covered our notebooks.
Only this time, there will be no shrill teacher screaming at us :D
